In his home reality, Victor was a clone created by Reed Richards, using the DNA of both Wolverine and Sabretooth. For the first couple of years of his life time, he was kept in a cell. When he escaped, he ravaged the lands of Canada, and was hunted for most of his life until finally joining a group called the Outlanders, formed of other mutants, freaks, and outcasts.
