The Flash is the sixth installment of The DC Theatrical Universe. It is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and produced by Geoff Johns, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Charles Roven. The film stars John Mulaney, Emma Stone, Peter Capaldi, Kevin McKidd, with Craig T. Nelson, and Sam Rockwell. It was released on May 18th, 2012.

  • The Trickster will be active in Central City before Barry gets his powers and is referred to as a "Joker wannabe"
  • Darryl Frye is Barry Allen's adoptive father and his real father, Henry Allen, is in jail for the murder of Nora Allen, but she was actually killed by the Reverse-Flash
  • Barry Allen and Patrick O'Brian will be best friends, as Patrick is the first person Barry tells about his powers
  • Despite being Barry's best friend, Patrick gets arrested a lot for misdemeanors
  • Evan McCulloch will steal the mirror technology from Sam Scudder
  • Niles Caulder will mentor the Flash
  • Hartley Rathaway will appear in the post-credits scene

Trivia[]

  • The post-credits scene teases Flash: Gorilla Warfare.
  • Jack Coleman plays Henry Allen. Coleman was the original choice to play Barry Allen in the 90's Flash television series. The role eventually went to John Wesley Shipp, who would later go on to play Henry Allen in the 2010's Flash television series. Shipp would also play an alternate reality version of Jay Garrick, but in the DCTU Garrick is played by Jeff Daniels.
  • Superman: Last Son is referenced when Barry sees news coverage of Superman on TV and comments "Superman? Wow, that's modest."
  • In the comics, Patrick O'Brian is known as Plastic Man.
  • Shawn Levy was originally signed on to direct, but he was forced to drop out. However, he would later return to the DCTU to direct Blue Beetle.
  • Matt Barr was originally supposed to portray Barry Allen.
