- Despite drastic differences between the two, Sidny is based on River Tam from Firefly. The idea of a strong female who was experimented on in secret is the basic idea of River that carried over to Sidny, but beyond that they are quite substantially different.
- Sidny's name is in reference to Sidney Prescott from the Scream movie franchise.
- The Scream movie franchise is one of my favourites, and there is also another reason for a variation of the main character's name being used.
