History

Born into the Kree Army

Dubbed Phyla-Vell by her adoptive father, she was born into the Kree army, unlike most children. Children born in the Kree dimension live with their parents until they are eleven. Females were thought to be superior to males, since they bring life, girls are inducted into the army while young boys begin working labor. However, Phyla's mother died giving birth to her, so she was taken in by a nurse in the army, Genis-Vell. Growing up, she was trained how to fight and how to conjure energy weapons.

Graduation

By the time Phyla was eleven, she was told she had already graduated from the military, but she decided to stay and get even more training. She learned the art of Quan-Chi, which involved hand to hand combat, in case her powers did not work, stealth, and understanding foreign languages through telepathy. When she was eighteen, the traditional graduation age, she was given the choice of getting a different job, or instantly become a high-ranking member of the Kree army. She chose to join the army and she became the second in command of General Ronan.

Invasion

Not long after being put in this position, Phyla was given the appearance of a human and sent as an agent to infiltrate the Earth dimension. She went through the portal and took on the human alias of Patricia Valor. She studied humans, learned their ways of life. Eventually she met a man named Alex Rogers, who she became friends with. He taught her that humans were not what the Kree thought they were, he taught her that humans were genuine and caring. Eventually they went their separate ways when Phyla was called back to her home dimension.

Betrayal

Phyla was interrogated by General Ronan, who asked her constant, ridiculous, questions about human beings. Eventually, when Ronan started asking more meaningful questions, she refused to rat out the species she had grown to care for. Ronan saw her as weak and ordered she be put in a cell, but she used her Quan-Chi training to take out the guards and she escaped from the military camp base. Ronan sent a squad of Borg Hounds after her, but she slaughtered all of them and remained a traitor in the Outback of the Kree Dimension, having nowhere to go, and no one to go to. Eventually, Ronan found her and defeated her in hand to hand combat, and she was taken to a cell.
