I look around at us, you know what I see? Losers! I mean... folks who've lost stuff. And man, we have. All of us. Our homes. Our families. Normal lives. And usually life takes more than it gives, but not today. Today's given us something, it's given us a chance.

Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord) is a former Ravager and the founder, and leader, of the Guardians of the Galaxy, a band of outlaws who protect the galaxy from various threats.
History[]
Early life[]
Peter Quill was born in 1980 to Meredith Quill, a human, and Ego, a Celestial, making him a hybrid of the two. While he was growing up, he got into fights with other kids. During this time his mother was diagnosed with brain cancer, and after she died Peter ran out of the hospital, only to be abducted by the Ravagers, a group of intergalactic mercenaries.
The Ravagers[]
The Ravagers' mission was to take Peter to his father in deep space, but their leader, Yondu Udonta, instead decided to keep him as their own. They taught him to be a master thief, and as he grew older he started to go by the name Star-Lord, a nickname given to him by his mother.
