- I've gone up against countless baddies. Kang the Conqueror, Loki, no big freakin' deal. But this is more than even I can handle. I can't kill my own grandfather.
Miguel is a descendant of the web-slinging superhero known as Spider-Man. Though by the time he was born, the spider powers in his family had died out. Miguel did not even know that he was descended from the famous Peter Parker. However, his mother did tell him many stories about Spider-Man when he was younger. Miguel seamed extremely interested in Spider-Man, and for some reason, he felt like he was destined to become the next Spider-Man, much like the three Spider-Men in the past, Peter Parker, Benjamin Parker, and John Jameson III. After Jameson was killed, no one ever became Spider-Man again, and the Parker family tree had ended.
When Miguel was sixteen, he was given a school assignment to do research on his family tree. Miguel knew that his father was still alive, but he walked out on his mother when Miguel was only an infant. After days of research and not finding anything, he gave up. He decided to work backwards, and do research on his ancestors instead. After nearly two weeks of digging and digging through family records, Miguel was able to find something on a man named J. Jameson III. After discovering this, he did even more research and was able to uncover his relation to the one and only Peter Parker.
After Miguel discovered his heritage he became determined to become the new Spider-Man, and he knew that Nueva York needed a hero to protect them from the corrupt business known as Alchemax, run by Tyler Stone. Miguel applied for an internship at Alchemax, knowing that they are working on replicating heroes from the Heroic Age. He was accepted and he became the assistant of Tyler Stone himself. When they met in person, the two of them immediately noticed the resemblance. Miguel remained quiet, but Tyler was suspicious. He ran a DNA test and discovered that Miguel was his son. After Miguel found this out, he became more determined than ever to become Spider-Man.
