- Growing up with nothing but a father who constantly has his mind on politics, you get used to taking care of yourself. But he taught me how to be a leader, and right now, that's what you guys need. So, if you'll have me, I'd love to lead the X-Men.
Lorna's mother passed away when she was very young, which put her father through a temporary state of depression. Lorna was too young to understand why her mother died, and she hardly had any memory of her. Her father tried as hard as he could to raise her right, but he constantly had his priorities set on politics. Erik's business partner, Warren Worthington, was like a second father to Lorna, and she was good friends with his son.
After her father was elected president, he instantly became the most famous man in the world, being the first mutant to ever run a country. This caused Lorna to be put under constant media scrutiny, which she greatly disliked. She hardly had the chance to ever see Warren, and eventually the two of them lost contact completely. Eventually, she got used to her planned out life in the White House, and adapted even further once her father was reelected.
In her fifth year in the white house, Lorna took pleasure in messing around with any supplies she could find, seeing how far she could throw, what kinds of combinations she could make with various materials, anything to keep her entertained. Eventually, when messing around with a pen, she discovered she had inherited her father's magnetokinetic abilities, she was psyched. She instantly told her father, who became very proud of her, at least for that moment. The next day, things went back to normal, and the two of them hardly ever communicated.
