In the days of World War 2, James was the son of the general associated with Captain America. One day, he got to meet Captain America, who offered him the chance to join the Howling Commandos, to which he accepted. He ended up being a great addition to the team. However, during one mission, he was shot in the left arm and fell off of a train, presumably dying.
