Flash doesn't talk much about his past, most likely because it was troubled. Eventually, when he and Peter Parker became friends, he revealed his parents were abusive when he was a child.
When Flash got to High School, his parents stopped abusing him. he found out it was because they had become poor. They were forced to move into a gas station and keep it running so they could have a home. Every day, his parents would leave for a long time and not come back until Flash was almost asleep. He then started taking out his anger on Peter Parker, even before he was on the football team.
Flash discovered he had a gift when it came to football. He was immediately put in the quarterback position, and he became King of the School within a week. When Flash told his parents, they didn't even bother pretending to care, which made Flash even angrier at them. After another month of neglect he went off on them and punched his father. His mother threatened to kick him out if hat ever happened again.
When Flash first saw a news report of the masked hero called Spider-Man, he became inspired to overcome his troubles and one day be like Spider-Man. He even made a resolution to tone down his bullying. He even became friends with Peter, who got him to give up bullying completely. However, his home life kept getting worse. Eventually, he returned to bullying to ease his troubles, but he doesn't bully Peter anymore.
When Flash's mutant powers began acting up, the technology around him began malfunctioning, whether its power was increased or shut off, it kept getting worse. When he completely shut off the power for his family's gas station, he was kicked out. He rented himself an apartment and kept himself isolated for days until he got his powers under control. He made a vow to himself not to use his powers unless he absolutely needed to.
