Vision during World War II
When Fury began to put together a team of "super adapted people", he decided he wanted a member who wasn't human, who could be sent on missions deemed inhumane to send people on. This led to the creation of an artificial being with cybernetic enhancements. It took a year to produce, and what was dubbed "Vision" joined the team another month later. With his immense strength and lasers, he became a valued member of the team.
