 Natasha Romanoff (Legally changed from Natalia Romanova during the transfer to S.H.I.E.L.D) is the secondary Black Ops agent on the Monarchs, behind Hawkeye.

History

I love him, but I know we can't be together. So I'm his partner, Hawkeye and Black Widow, fighting terrorists with arrows and bullets. Doesn't get much more cliche after that.

Natasha

Russian Agent

Natalia started out as a Russian agent, killing anyone the government asked her to. She didn't see any problem with this, and followed her country without question. One day, she met a man named Clint Barton, who was targeting the same person as her. After a brief fight, they decided to kill the target at the same time, which they did. However, she learnt that Clint was working for America, and attacked him. She pulled out to avoid blowing her cover, and returned to her home in Moscow.

Off to America

Having seen Clint in action, Romanova decided America was a stronger power, and feeling an urge to see him again, she decided to move. Nick Fury intercepted a ship of Russian citizens being smuggled into the country, and took Natalia as prisoner, as she had been on the boat. He took her for interrogation, and Clint was brought in. He saw Natalia, and recognised her. He vouched for the Russian, and managed to get her a place in the S.H.I.E.L.D ranks as his partner. To cut off her ties with Russia, S.H.I.E.L.D had her name changed to Natasha Romanoff, and she began work alongside the expert archer.

Love Torn

Her initial feelings for Clint grew over several months working with him, and they became really close. She confessed her feelings to him, only to learn he was engaged to a woman called Jessica Drew, AKA Agent Arachne. Rejected, she fell into a depression, becoming a major alcoholic. Noticing her increasingly distressed mental condition, Clint tried to talk her out of her newfound habits. He explained that he wanted to be with her, as partner agents, and would help her through anything. Natasha pulled out of her drinking habits, and agreed to remain partners, getting straight back into action.

Latveria

Several months later, Natasha was sent on a mission to Latveria alongside Hawkeye. Their mission was to force the monarchy to pull out their nukes stationed on a cargo ship in international waters. They were to do whatever it took to get the war heads retreated before a national incident occurred. They kidnapped the ruler of Latveria, Julian Cranereight, and held him hostage, in disguise, with Natasha using the name "Dagger" and Clint using "Cloak". They set their demands, and the nukes were withdrawn, and dismantled. They released Julian, and snuck out of the country by faking their own deaths, and S.H.I.E.L.D taking the bodies of the "International Terrorists".
