- No. I'll stay in Genosha. I'll be the Avengers' eyes and ears on the inside of the criminal underworld.
- Emma Frost
History[]
Power Development[]
Emma was born not long after her father, Winston Frost, retired from his job. He hardly paid Emma any attention, unlike her mother, who practically spoiled her because she was their only child. She disliked each of her parents for the way they treated her and wished they would just be normal. Eventually, when Emma was six, her mutants powers acted up, and they rendered both of her parents catatonic, and scarring her for life.
Aldrich Arrives too late[]
Later that same day, her father's old friend, Aldrich Killian, a Stark Industries employee, came to visit just a little too late to help his friend. Before Emma could notice his arrival, he freaked out and called the guards of the newly opened MAX Prison, Genosha. Soon the guards arrived and took Emma, but Aldrich assured her that she was going to a safe place and he would visit her regularly.
Growing Up in Genosha[]
Emma was forced to grow up and mature quickly. She soon realized that Aldrich had lied to her, and Genosha was not a safe place. It was a prison. She had no freedom. They were constantly working on ways to get her in control of her powers, and whenever they tried she accidentally rendered another therapist catatonic. By the time she was fifteen, she managed to get her powers under control, but she enjoyed faking strokes in the therapists's minds just to freak out the staff.
