This ring isn't like the Green Lanterns' rings. It wasn't given to me to join an inter-galactic police force, I was chosen to be the keeper of an endangered race called the Watchers. They live inside this ring, it's like a whole other universe inside this thing. They give me my powers, and in return, I keep them safe, along with everyone else.
