- I don't mind the dark. I don't mind the scrubs and the rats. I don't mind wandering around in some cold, wet, damp tunnel for a week at a time. I don't mind anything. But I mind Golic.
- - Daniel Rains to Leonard Dillon
Daniel Rains was an inmate at the Fiorina 161 Class C Work Correctional Unit, on the penal colony Fiorina 161. He participated in the Massacre of Fiorina 161 against the lone xenomorph they named the Dragon, in August 2552.
Biography[]
Early life[]
After killing a family of five during a home invasion in 2526, Daniel Rains was set to serve a life sentence at the Fiorina 161 Class C Work Correctional Unit, on the penal colony Fiorina 161. Before the incident he already had a history of red sand and marijuana abuse.
Massacre of Fiorina 161[]
After Ellen Ripley crash-landed on Fiorina 161 aboard a Type 337 EEV on August 9th, 2552, Rains was one of the first inmates to rush towards the damaged shuttle. He was later tasked by Superintendent Harold Andrews to map an abandoned section of the facility alongside Edward Boggs and the deranged Walter Golic.
While the trio surveyed the abandoned corridors, Rains was the first to notice the candles that they were lifting were inexpicably being extinguished. He then returned to relight them, believing it was a prank by other inmates. However, he stumbled upon a massive xenomorph, which killed him almost immedatly. His corpse was later found by Golic and Boggs, with a hole through his skull.
Personality[]
Daniel Rains was indecisive, weak-minded, and submissive. While he was compliant to all those around him, he disled his fellow inmatew Walter Golic, of whom he was particularly frightened of.
