History[]
Early Life[]
Military Career & WWII[]
Buck Turgidson was born in Wise, Virginia in 1917. His youth was filled with athletic accomplishments including being a varsity team for track for several events and broke the state record for shot put.
In 1935, at the age of 18, Turgidson would join the U.S. army and go through basic training. Most of this period would be very quiet with Turgidson seeing very little active combat, until the outbreak of WWII.
By the time of WWII, Turgidson was Captain in the U.S. Army and was sent to take part in the North African Campaign. He would be a part of Operation Torch in 1942 and the Invasion of Italy in 1943. By the VE Day, Turgidson was ranked Colonel and was stationed in Austria for four more years after the wars end, before being reassigned back to the U.S. and eventually promoted to General in 1951.
Early Monarch[]
1954[]
General Turgidson was one of several members of the military community to be called to advise President Eisenhower on how to handle Godzilla and his attack on Japan.
In the aftermath of Godzilla's apparent death, General Turgidson was assigned to head the American branch of the transnational Kaiju prevention organization Monarch, with the purpose of preventing or combating potential threats similar to Godzilla and researching such ancient monsters.
He would be assigned to a newly constructed Fort Kubrick in the Mojave Desert of Nevada.
Operation: Broken Star - 1954[]
Shortly after assuming his position, Turgidson organized an operation to investigate an unidentified aircraft crash that occurred in the Sierra Nevada region.
The team sent to the site discovered a strange large aircraft that was heavy damaged with its crew all dead. The crew being humanoid in nature, but more lanky and paler then humans. They wore strange black and silver uniforms and bleed dark blue blood.
Turgidson would order the team to seal the area off from the public and prepare everything to be transferred to Fort Kubrick.
During this time Turgidson would be introduced to the American Branch's top scientist, Dr. Strangelove who was in charge of the examination team. Strangelove and his team would conclude that the cause of the crash was an internal explosion caused by some type of energy feedback that strangely occurred around the same time Godzilla was hit with the Oxygen Destroyer.
