Doctor Arnim Zola was a Swiss scientist who worked for HYDRA and the Nazi Party during and after World War II as one of Baron Zoller's and Red Skull's greatest lieutenants. Responsible for studies over ancient relics such as the Tesseract and the creation of numerous weapons and advanced technologies for the Axis and HYDRA, Zola fled to Brazil in hiding alongside Madame Hydra following the defeat of Germany, the deaths of Hitler and Red Skull, and the imprisonment of Zoller, whereas he started to rebuild HYDRA from scratch as a terrorist organization.
