The Age of the Primes was a period in Cybertronian history where civilization on Cybertron officially began and was governed by the Thirteen, each leading their own distinct civilizations.
History[]
Origin[]
Following Primus creating the Thirteen to, and sucessfully, defeat Unicron, the Thirteen decided to create the Cybertronian race while Primus laid dormant in the core of the planet; these beings would later become precursors to modern Cybertronians, and later their respective colonies. While the first Cybertronians were generally humanoid in appearance, other kinds were born with characteristics similar to some of the Thirteen (female Cybertronians like Solus Prime; bestial Cybertronians like Onyx Prime; Cybertronians who can combine like Nexus Prime; etc.). They would later form their own societies called the Thirteen Realms, under the leadership of each Prime, and have since then lived in peace.
War of the Primes[]
The peace came to an immediate end when Megatronus and Liege Maximo plotted to betray the Thirteen, which led to a civil war that ended with Megatronus murdering Solus Prime. The Age of the Primes came to an end with the disappearance of the Primes.
Legacy[]
The Cybertronian race began to slowly rebuild following the disappearance of most of the Thirteen. They faced many challenges along the way, such as the collision of asteroids during the Great Cataclysm, which wiped out most of Cybertron's native life; and the Quintessons' invasion and tyrannical rule of Cybertron during the Age of Wrath. After the Quintessons' expulsion from Cybertron, the Cybertronians came to a complete restoration during the Golden Age.

- The events during this age take elements of the events of the Thirteen's creation from the Aligned continuity, and the establishment of the Thirteen Tribes and the First Cybertronian Civil War between the Primes in the IDW Generation 1 continuity.
